Phil joined Bayer in 2018 upon the acquisition of Monsanto where he led Biotech New Investments and fostered external R&D engagements. Today, as Open Innovation Lead, Phil plays a central role cultivating relationships with researchers around the world and providing a home at Bayer for them to accelerate their ideas.
Simon Maechling, PhD
Innovation Scout, Bayer Crop Science
Simon has spent his career working in the agrochemicals industry. As an experienced project manager, he has worked in organic synthesis, drug discovery and life sciences. Simon now scouts for innovation at Bayer Crop Science.
Tobias Harschneck, PhD
Lab Leader | Chemistry, Bayer Crop Science
Tobias joined Bayer in 2014 as lab leader in chemistry. Since then, his work has focused on discovery and optimization of insecticides. Tobias is also passionate about advancing internal and external innovation at Bayer. He is the project lead for the Testing4Ag program.
Michael Crawford, PhD
Emerging Projects Lead, Bayer Crop Science
Michael has over 15 years of experience in small molecule discovery for both start-ups and large agrochemical companies. He is currently leading a team to evaluate new technologies via external collaborations at Bayer.
